Terms & Conditions

DocDist is a document distribution service that lets authorized uploaders share documents with named viewers under controlled, trackable conditions. By using DocDist — either as an uploader or as a viewer following a share link — you agree to these terms.
1. Eligibility and Accounts
Uploader accounts are created by redeeming an invite link issued by a DocDist administrator and signing in with a Google account. Administrators may revoke an uploader's access at any time, which removes their account and all documents they own. Viewer access does not require an account; viewers identify themselves with a name and email and verify possession of that email through a one-time magic link.
2. Uploader Responsibilities
As an uploader, you authorize DocDist to read selected documents from your Google Drive (or accept files you upload directly), convert them to watermarked images, store the resulting renditions, and serve them to viewers via the share links you create. You confirm that you have the right to distribute every document you upload, and you are responsible for the share links, expiration settings, and viewer allow-lists you configure.
3. Viewer Responsibilities
By opening a share link and verifying your email, you consent to DocDist recording your name, email, the share link you used, and viewing-activity events generated in the viewer — including page-view durations, focus changes, copy and clipboard attempts, screenshot key combinations, and similar signals. This information is made available to the document owner and other members of the owner's organization for the purpose of monitoring document distribution. You agree not to attempt to circumvent watermarking, re-distribute documents, or share your magic-link session with anyone else.
4. Use of the Service
Documents are served as per-session watermarked images. You may not attempt to download raw source files, scrape the rendered pages programmatically, reverse-engineer the watermark, probe the service for vulnerabilities, or use the service to distribute unlawful, infringing, or malicious content. Sessions automatically expire after 30 minutes of use or 10 minutes of inactivity and may be revoked by the document owner at any time.
5. Availability and Limitation of Liability
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranty of any kind. DocDist is not liable for lost data, unavailable share links, evicted document caches, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Uploaders retain full responsibility for the content they share and for any disputes between them and their viewers.
6. Termination
Administrators may deauthorize uploaders or delete organizations at any time, which will remove the associated documents, share links, viewer sessions, and stored files. Uploaders may delete their own documents and share links at any time.
7. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. You agree that any dispute arising from these terms or your use of DocDist will be resolved by binding arbitration in the State of California.
